Image Forge
DEPL_2026.10.04A public image generator whose GPU belongs to one person and is usually asleep. The interesting part is not the generation — it is a queue, a quota and a set of honest states for hardware that is sometimes simply unavailable.
What It Does
A visitor picks a checkpoint, optionally a style LoRA or two, writes a prompt and gets an image. It renders on the RTX 4080 in my desktop — the same ComfyUI install my agents use — through a worker that dials out to the server and never listens on a port of its own.
One render happens at a time for the whole site, and four per person per day. The counter is keyed on a signed cookie with an address ceiling behind it, so clearing cookies buys one more set of four and then stops. A render that fails because something on my side broke is refunded; a prompt the blocklist rejects is not.
The machine is asleep most of the time, and the page says so rather than pretending. Submitting while it is up but idle cold-starts ComfyUI; submitting while its owner is using the graphics card queues the job and starts it the moment the card is free. Nothing stops ComfyUI while it still has work in its own queue, including renders I started by hand.
